From the reviews
A nice art center with beautiful art from local artists, and a cool maker space. I enjoyed seeing the variety of local art, from photography to painting to sculptures. They also offer classes to make stuff, like a clay sculpting class that I didn't have time for that day but sounded interesting
Come here once a year for an event put on for my childrens school. They always take good care of the school and everyone in attendance for the schools annual Empty Bowls Event to raise money for pueblos soup kitchenen and other local non profits.
Both the Children's and Adult museums are wonderful, and affordable. Very informative, educational and fun! The exhibits and artwork are breathtaking, and there are a tons of fun crafts and activities in the Children's museum. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming! Highly recomend!
Huge complex with theaters, galleries, class rooms, a children's museum and outdoor space where they have concerts. A real credit to Pueblo for supporting the arts in such a way!
Your first ballet class at Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
