From the reviews
Both my daughters have been coming to So Cal Academy for the last 10 years! What makes SoCal different from the other studios is the family atmosphere and the bonding of parents and dancers.
SCDA has been the best introduction to dance for my daughter! We attempted a different dance company when she was 3 and it was not a good experience. Since switching to SCDA she has thrived! The instructors work so well with her and it feels like a family.
Having been a proud supporter of SCDA, I cannot speak more highly of any other studio but this one! Although much has changed over the past 10 years its heart has stayed the same, putting family and students first. With an amazing and dedicated staff who always push their students to be their very best.
Both of my daughters started dancing here in March 2021 and they absolutely love it. This is their 3rd your on the comp team and we just love watching them perform. The teachers are great with the kids and my girls continue to thrive at this studio. I would definitely refer them to anyone I know! :)
Your first ballet class at So Cal Dance Academy, dance studio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
