We absolutely love Statesville Dance! My daughter has been taking classes with Laura and Amanda since she was 3 and her confidence level and knowledge has grown so much. They are professional, but so fun with the kids. There are opportunities to try all genres of dance to see what fits best.
My daughter has taken dance from here since they opened and we love it here!! The teachers are great about encouraging the dancers and want to see them do their best. My daughter has also taken the summer dance camps they offer and always enjoys it!

Laura and Amanda are very passionate about dancing and teaching others to dance. They work incredibly hard, but they make it look effortless because they genuinely love what they do. My daughter now loves dance because of them! I highly recommend Statesville Dance!
Your first ballet class at Statesville Dance and Performing Arts
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
