From the reviews
Studio 1 is the best!! My daughters have been here since they were 2 and 3 years old. Through the years they have grown to think of the studio and Laurie as family. Laurie is a very talented teacher. It is amazing to see all of the girls she teaches grow in ability each and every year.
My 2 year old daughter and I have been attending the dance class and I have been so thrilled with it so far! Our instructor has shown such skill with a classroom full of 2-3 year olds and is so helpful in reminding us parents that dance is fun and we will learn techniques as we grow.
My oldest daughter started going here about 8 months ago. Her growth and love for the studio blew me away. Then the owner Laurie was so wonderful and made it possible for me to also enroll my 2 younger girls. Who are also thriving. I have no doubt all 3 of my girls will be amazing dancers before long.
Studio 1 Dance Academy is my daughters second home. Laurie is an excellent teacher and focuses on teaching the art of dance. The classes are progressive and based on skill level, so my daughter is always learning new steps and improving her strength, flexibility, and technique.
Your first ballet class at Studio 1 Dance Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
