The programs they offer
“Wonderful studio no expert by any means but have taken my daughter to multiple different studios in 2 different states and by far the best has been studio8.”
“She’s never been left with a babysitter or done any daycare or preschool.”
What families & students say
“Lisa and now (*whispers* 30 years later) she is teaching my daughter dance!! This woman loves dance, teaching dance, and all her students.”
“If you miss something it’s because you aren’t checking your email, website portal, or the family Facebook page.”
“She also mentioned that even though that was her professional opinion she believes that moms know their babies and would respect if she still wanted to pull her from the classroom.”
From the reviews
This is my daughters first year of dance and she is 2.5. We actually tried a different studio close to home but we weren’t impressed so after a referral and reading reviews we drove 50 minutes to attend the class with Lisa.
Ms Lisa is a wonderful teacher and person. After having our daughter at 2 other studios, Studio 8 is the best! We promptly receive a monthly calendar each month plus numerous emails for things that come up. My daughter is actually learning new things every week at this studio.
We moved to the area a few months ago and after doing some research decided on Studio 8 for our daughter who lives to dance. Ms Lisa and the entire studio welcomed us with open arms. We could not be more happy! It is a wonderful, engaging environment that challenges all skill levels of dance.
My daughter has been in dance at studio 8 for awhile now. She used to not be a huge fan of dance but always wanted to stay in it because she loved Ms. Lisa. Now not only does she love Ms. lisa but she also loves dance. All these kids love her and its plain to see watching any practice she adores them just the same.
Adult ballet at Studio 8 performing arts
Studio 8 performing arts runs classes for grown-ups — confirmed on their own site. If you've never taken ballet, or you're coming back to it after years away, this is for you — and a good studio genuinely welcomes a nervous first-timer. A few things worth asking before you go. First, which class to start in — look for one labeled "absolute beginner" or "adult beginner" rather than an open or "all levels" class, so you learn the fundamentals at the right pace. Second, drop-in or term — many adult programs let you pay per class to try it, then move to a term or monthly package once you're hooked. Third, what to wear — comfortable clothes you can move in, plus socks or bare feet, are plenty for a first class; you won't need a leotard or ballet shoes to walk in the door. It's never too late for first position.
Your first ballet class at Studio 8 performing arts
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
