From the reviews

My dancer has been a part of the Studio One family since it opened in 2017. She takes a wide range of classes across all genres of dance, with a strong emphasis on technique and ballet. She also participates on the award winning competition team.

★★★★★ — Melissa, May 2022

I cannot say enough good things about Studio one dance center (S1DC)! It is my daughter’s home away from home. She has grown so much…in strength and technique but also in teamwork, commitment, discipline, and confidence.

★★★★★ — Carrie, May 2022

This is our second year at S1DC, after having been at two previous studios, and our experience has been wonderful! The culture is caring and supportive and the instructional quality is high. We are excited to continue our journey with the studio!

★★★★★ — Raleigh, Apr 2022

My daughter has been dancing since 3rd grade and moved to this studio as a rising 9th grader (to incorporate acro and to compete). From the first meeting with the owner, my daughter knew this was the place for her. This studio quickly became her second home (filled with great kids and welcoming parents).

Your first ballet class at Studio One Dance Center

Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Ballet is for every age and every body. If you're returning from an injury or have a health concern, mention it to the teacher before class so they can offer modifications.
