From the reviews
We absolutely love Tanya’s Dance Company! I have 2 boys who wanted to take a hip hop class when they were 8ish and now my youngest has gone on to join the competition team and dances almost every day of the week. It has become an amazing sport for him and I can’t imagine him slowing down.
They do remarkable work. Yes, they are structured, and they hold to their boundaries—but it’s within that structure that something truly beautiful happens. My daughter attends two dance classes here at the studio in Belgrade. The staff are beyond helpful! They are so fast with ordering and do a great job communicating when things are delayed. She loves all her teachers and can't wait to see them every week. The confidence she has grown just in two short months is amazing.
The depth of knowledge the Tanya's team has in dance is phenomenal-- across all disciplines. I don't know that there is another studio in town that offers such diversity in programming. To top it off, the teachers are kind and hold themselves to the level of discipline they hold their dancers.
Your first ballet class at Tanya's Dance Co
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
