From the reviews

My daughter started here in January (2021) and has her first dance recital this weekend. I have been very happy with how friendly and attentive all of the staff is and I appreciate the fact that they are really teaching ballet and not just giving my daughter something to do for an hour once a week!

★★★★★ — Lisa, Jul 2023

We absolutely love this studio. My two daughters, ages 9 and 7, have been dancing here for several years, and the experience has been exceptional. Mrs. Maria, the studio owner and company director, is deeply involved in both daily operations and instruction.

★★★★★ — Weilan, Dec 2025

My daughter loves dancing here. She is currently a member of the Ballet Company with Ballet Academy North under the direction of Kelly Yankle. BAN is the BEST ballet program in all of Leander and Cedar Park. The other instructors are top notch with years of experience.

★★★★★ — Emelia, Jan 2020

Great studio, our little has enjoyed her time here and being taught by Ms. Maria who is always kind, patient & intentional with her classes. God Willing, we will come back year after year.

Your first ballet class at The Dance Academy

Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Ballet is for every age and every body. If you're returning from an injury or have a health concern, mention it to the teacher before class so they can offer modifications.
