From the reviews

We love The Dance Academy!! My daughter has danced there for 13 years. It is such a positive for her and I’m so grateful the music, costumes, and dance moves have been held to a high standard the whole time she has danced here. The teachers are amazing. All the staff truly care about the girls.

We have had the great opportunity to have our daughter dance with The Dance Academy and have LOVED it! The coaches are fantastic and give her the personal attention to help her excel and strengthen her talent of dancing. The competitions are fun to attend as a TDA family.

✨ I cannot say enough good things about my daughter’s dance studio! ✨ Jill is truly one of the most caring, loving, and intentional people I’ve ever met. She pours her heart into every dancer and creates an environment that’s not just about technique, but about values, confidence, and self-worth.

★★★★★ — Jennie, Jul 2025

We have been going to The Dance Academy for a little over a year and we absolutely LOVE it! My son did a combo class last year and this year joined a competition team. My daughter is doing her second season of combo classes and is already planning to try out for competition teams next year!

Your first ballet class at The Dance Academy

Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Ballet is for every age and every body. If you're returning from an injury or have a health concern, mention it to the teacher before class so they can offer modifications.
