From the reviews
This is a wonderful dance studio with an amazing and warmhearted owner, director, and teacher Michelle. The space is very cozy and has a wonderful energy about it - full of creativity and support.
The Dance Space is the BEST! I have been taking classes here for a little over a year and I look forward to them every week. Michelle is an amazing instructor, her classes are so fun and challenging (with great music!) Bounce with Katie is awesome too. The space itself is beautiful, welcoming, and well-appointed.
I have worked with Michelle for several years and can honestly say that she is the best teacher/coach/trainer I have ever had! She is incredibly knowledgeable about body mechanics and movement, and how to achieve the best results for each individual student.
Michelle's studio is beautiful. My daughter recently started ballet and is having so much fun. I have been taking the Sculpt class and feel challenged and supported, it is a great workout! You can really feel the burn, but Michelle keeps it light and fun.
Your first ballet class at The Dance Space Nantucket - Dance + Boutique Fitness Studio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
