Being new to the Columbus area and dance, I had no idea what studio would be right for my daughter. I looked at so many and ended up selecting ML Dance Academy due to the experience of Joe and Yulia and I couldn’t be happier with my selection.
This is the best dance studio! When my daughter wanted to take dance, I wanted a studio that focused on dance skill and not just performance. There is a high level of skill taught with strong values and professionalism. Dance moves and costumes very age appropriate.
Love the new location. Very convenient to I-70. New building has much more room in the lobby and larger class spaces. Excellent instruction and choreography in Irish dance. Joe is always well prepared for classes as well as private lessons. My teenage daughter loves her hip hop classes; great teacher, fun atmosphere.
The best professional Dance Studio in Ohio. Excellent work on technique. Joe is a professional Irish dancer who spent 13 years in Riverdance and Yulia is professional ballerina from Russia. I am so happy that my daughter dances here and gets the best dance education in Ohio.
Your first ballet class at The ML Dance Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
