From the reviews
My daughter has loved dancing at Next Step! Not only has she learned technique in a variety of dance genres, she continues to acquire important life skills in a variety of areas: confidence, composure, leadership, organization and time management. Most importantly, she has forged life-long friendships.
Both of my daughters started at this studio when they were three. The staff is kind and professional. With three locations, I can always find a class or camp that works best with our schedule. We have made some amazing friends and plan on being here for a long time.
My time at Next Step was absolutely incredible. I was on competitive teams and senior lines for 5 years and couldn’t have had a better experience. My friends from Next Step are still close to me today and I treasure the relationships and friendships I built at the studio more than anything.
Can’t think of a better place to find your love for dance and also create friendships that will last a lifetime. The strong community is something that particularly stands out to me. I always felt a strong sense of support, kindness, and motivation from other classmates and teachers.
Your first ballet class at The Next Step Dance Studio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
