From the reviews
One of the top 10 ballet schools in the country and even top 5 depending on who you're asking. They have more kids working professionally and going to YAGP which is basically the ballet olympics, than any other school in Philly by far.
We were “blown away” by the Classical Nutcracker under the direction of Peter Stark. This Rock family of dancers performed a beautiful production that proved to be amazingly executed with gorgeous artistry.
My Daughter attend 2 years in a row and received a partial scholarship for the year round program. She loved it and grew as a dancer. I wish we could of sent her year round but at that moment in time the cost was too much for us to handle. If you are a dancer who wants that life , it is a great place to be.
I take the adult ballet class with Eva and it is absolutely wonderful! Eva is an amazing teacher and is passionate about sharing her love of ballet. I look forward to class every week! I've also volunteered backstage for the Nutcracker performances and have found the dancers to be very kind and talented.
Your first ballet class at The Rock School for Dance Education
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
