The train ride was the best part of our Duluth trip! Definitely worth springing for first class. Drinks and snacks are included. The whole trip takes a bit over an hour. Beautiful scenery of the lake and homes along the way. The entrance to the train was a bit hard to find. You have to go inside and downstairs.
The Duluth Depot is an awesome and historic place to visit for locals and tourists. The summer months are great to visit especially when they have Thomas the Train during the month of August every year, and really cool during the Christmas holiday when they have the Christmas train leaving Fitgers and arriving at the…
Very impressed! First off, the ticket agent asked if I might be a veteran, I told him I was. He informed me that happily the policy had been updated and families up to 5 members can visit for no charge when with a veteran. Thank you for that honor! The museum was great!
We visited after our train ride. The train museum was fun to walk through and there was so much to look at! Tons of information and you could go inside a lot of the train cars. Also, it was not very busy and we could take our time to enjoy it.
Your first ballet class at The St. Louis County Depot
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
