From the reviews
Being a dancer at TSDC myself, I am not only disappointed but aggravated in the vast number of negative reviews. I think that Tricia Sloan Dance Center is a high-quality place. The various numbers of dance styles and technique that is taught at the studio blows my mind.
Tricia Sloan Dance Center is a family! We work together and help eachother out when we need it! I love it here it is my second home and I couldnt be more greatful for having each and every one of the amazing Teachers! Tricia Sloan is a hard working, careing individual! She wants nothing but the best for her dancers!
My daughter loves Tricia Sloan Dance Center. The front desk is very helpful and friendly and my daughter just loves her teacher, Ms. Julie. It’s great to see my daughter practicing what she learns throughout the week and even though she’s only been here a little over a month she’s already learning a lot of ballet…
My daughters attended 3 studios in the area. TSDC had the most experienced high quality teachers. There were a few teachers who were not great for various reasons and they don't seem to stay. TSDC is a clean facility with quality dance floors. There is a great focus on technique.
Your first ballet class at Tricia Sloan Dance Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
