From the reviews

Little did we know when we signed up our then preschooler for dance lessons more than a decade ago that Turning Pointe would become a second home to her, and a few years later to her younger sister, or that the teachers and fellow dancers would become their second family.

★★★★★ — Nicole, Feb 2021

I can't say enough about how extraordinary Turning Pointe has been for our son and our family. The teachers have poured their years of experience, hearts and attention into all the kids they work with.

★★★★★ — Isabeau, May 2024

I have had 5 children dance at TPDS . The training is unmatched for dancers looking for quality instruction. Turning Pointe is not just a dance studio, it is a family. The teachers care about their students dance education, mental and physical health .

★★★★★ — Melissa, Feb 2021

My two daughters have been enrolled at Turning Pointe Dance Studio since they were each 3 years old. Turning Pointe Dance Studio is not only a dance studio where my girls have trained in multiple disciplines of dance, they have also experienced the true meaning of community, what it means to work together as a team…

Your first ballet class at Turning Pointe Dance Studio

Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Ballet is for every age and every body. If you're returning from an injury or have a health concern, mention it to the teacher before class so they can offer modifications.
