I can’t say enough great things about the Tutu School in Fairlawn! From the moment we walked through the doors, it was clear this place is something special. Grant and Katie, the owners, are absolutely fantastic—they go above and beyond to make every child (and parent) feel welcome and valued.
We love Tutu School. It is a magical place. The clean, beautiful boutique environment, sets the scene for little ones to have fun and thrive! The owners, Kate and Grant, are welcoming and communicate effectively before the first class. They, also, check in following sign up, as they truly care about your experience.
Beyond impressed with this place! My daughter’s confidence has exploded since starting Tutu School! She says “Ms Sara, twirl” more times than anything else in the week, even at only 20 months old. The environment is safe, clean, and sooo much fun!
This is our second year back at Tutu School Akron and it couldn't have been a better experience for my daughter! The atmosphere, fun and magic of it all makes it so much more than just a ballet class. The owners are very kind and the teachers are all sweet, and great with the kids.
Your first ballet class at Tutu School Akron
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
