What a wonderful experience we have had at The Tutu School in Virginia Highlands! Walking through the door was like entering a beautiful pink fairyland for little girls complete with crystal chandeliers. We were welcomed so warmly by Jess and introduced to the most adorable teacher!
Tutu School is one of the most charming and welcoming children’s dance studios I’ve visited. The space is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and feels like a place where young dancers can build confidence, creativity, and a love of movement.
We love Tutu School so much. My daughter takes classes there and genuinely looks forward to it every week. She loves her teacher and always has the best time—it’s just such a fun, happy place. We also hosted her birthday party there this weekend, and it honestly couldn’t have been more special.
The Tutu School in Virginia Highlands is absolutely the BEST! The staff is amazing, the location is ideal, and we love Jessica. It's the best to have such a wonderful place in this neighborhood providing the love and fundamentals of dance from an early age. We also love the fun shop!
Your first ballet class at Tutu School Atlanta - Virginia Highlands
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
