From the reviews
As a parent of two daughters who have spent their entire lives dancing and competing at United We Dance, I can confidently say that this studio has played a pivotal role in their development.
United We Dance has been such an incredible blessing for our family. The growth we've seen in our dancer, both on and off the stage, has been amazing. The instructors truly care about each child and push them to be their very best while creating a positive, supportive environment.
My 2 girls started at UWD this year. Great instructors. We love the fact that even in the group classes, our kids get some one on one instruction, every time. My girls think the classes are fun and usually leave class smiling. We came from a studio where the classes consisted of children running wild.
I have two dancers 8 & 12 who love it and are thriving here!! Best technical training and highest level of competitive dance experience you’ll find in Summerville and the Charleston area! Definitely recommend a try out, particularly if you have a child serious about dance or who wants to compete.
Your first ballet class at United We Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
