I will never stop raving about our Velocity Dance Center Family. My daughter started attending Velocity’s Dance with Me class in January when she turned 2. Our first class was… hard. My daughter has a speech delay which in turn makes her struggle with communication, direction, and instruction.
If you are looking for a dance studio home look not further than Velocity Dance Center!!! We have only been there 4 months however the change in our little girl has been amazing. She asks to go to dance just about everyday. Her teachers Ms Briley and Ms Kelli are amazing.
Cannot say enough good things about Velocity! The studio came highly recommended but it’s been nothing but positive experiences since we began last fall! All of the employees are so helpful and our instructors are absolutely fantastic. They all truly meet your child where they are on any given week!
We absolutely love Velocity’s approach to dancing. Both of our girls started with their mommy/parent and me class at 18mo and have continued dancing since. Velocity has helped our daughters learn class structure from an early age, build self confidence, and foster friendships.
Your first ballet class at Velocity Dance Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
