From the reviews
My 11 year old daughter attends Ballet Folklorico Sol de San Antonio with Maestra Alynna Martin and has been with her for less than a year. Without a doubt I would recommend her Dance Studio for those individuals wanting to keep this form of art and culture alive.
Best Ballet Folklorico company in San Antonio. Very professional and know how to put on a show for any type of event. Director Alynna, is a very knowledgeable and experienced dancer.
Great dance group. Young, yet very experienced dance instructor. She challenges her dancers to help them achieve an amazing level of technique, which is lost in many groups I have seen. If you're in this group, you are expected to work very hard, but they've had amazing opportunities and experiences.
Alynna has so much patience with the little ones. My daughter is 3 and enjoys going every week to dance. Everyone is super nice and thoughtful.
Your first ballet class at Ballet Folkorico Sol de San Antonio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
