We started at Dance Xplosion when my daughter was 3. Unfortunately, she wasn’t quite ready for that type of class at that point so we decided to take a year off and let her grow up a little bit. We went back when she was 5 and now we are starting our 3rd season with them.
We love Dance Xplosion. My daughter has not only advanced in dance since being at DX but it has also helped her overcome some of her fears and anxiety. Mattie Quate is an incredible studio owner and teacher. She is not just teaching the kids to dance but also how to be their best outside of dance.
We love Dance Xplosion! We have tried some other places and just feel the growth in technique and dance was happening. We have felt welcome from day one and love. We are excited to try competition dance this year! If you’re looking for a dance studio in the Grayson county area this is your place!
Your first ballet class at Dance Xplosion
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
