Amazing school!!! My son and daughter both dance here and have for years. Teachers are knowledgeable in all aspects of dance. It is like a second home. The kids have gained such confidence and made many new friends since starting. They have grown leaps and bounds with technique and body placement.
We moved to Moyock NC from Norfolk and had been looking for a dance school for our daughter to join as she was loving ballet in Norfolk and wanted to continue that experience, in addition to finding new friends in a new place!
Danceland 2 helped me grow so much as a dancer and as a person over the years! The teachers at Danceland 2 are helpful, motivational, and always put their best foot forward to help us succeed to our highest potential!
This is the BEST dance studio ever! The teachers are outstanding, class options are amazing! I mean, how many kiddos do you know that can say they've had recitle at The Sandler Center?? Also, the competition teams are soooo much fun and they've even danced at Disney. The options are unlimited for your dancers!!!
Your first ballet class at Danceland II School of Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
