I cannot say enough amazing good things about the Gotta Dance studio! The dance teachers are incredibly talented, not only as dancers, but as choreographers, leaders and the number one supporters of their students. It has truly been the best experience to ever happen to my daughter.
Gotta Dance is truly such a special place. I attended Gotta Dance from ages 2-17. I spent my childhood and young adult life here and I do not regret it. The teachers are such incredible mentors that have shaped me into the person I am today. The class structure is positive, encouraging, and educational.
My family and I were members of the Gotta Dance community for twenty seven years. My three younger sisters and I grew up among the walls of the studio. The life lessons we gained from our experiences at Gotta Dance have been greatly appreciated.
Gotta Dance was a second home to me and still continues to be even after graduating. They provided me with many life skills and allowed me to grow throughout my childhood. All of my teachers and assistants made me feel supported and valued.
Your first ballet class at Gotta Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
