Our experience at Imagine Performing Arts Center has been nothing short of exceptional! My daughter has been attending classes here for the past few years, and every session has been filled with growth, fun, and learning.
We are in year 3 of dance classes. What I love about Imagine is how thoughtfully and effortlessly they accomplish inclusion, while providing the teaching and coaching for every dancer to be their best. Some are en pointe and have gone into amazing dance opportunities.
We have been attending dance at Imagine since my daughter was young. We drive about 45 minutes despite having a dance studio right around the corner from our house because it is worth every single second.
Amazing place, great staff, beautiful performances, incredible teachers! I've never felt more welcome at any other establishment! I had never taken any dance lessons before, but after finding out about Imagine, I ended up taking an entire ballet course and even performing at recital!
Your first ballet class at Imagine Performing Arts Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
