From the reviews
JLDC is a wonderful place that offers so much to performers of all ages/abilities. I wanted a studio for my daughter that would teach her not only the foundations of dance, but would be a welcoming, inclusive environment where she would learn important social skills and above all, have fun.
After dancing with Miss Joni for 15 years myself, I now bring my 4 year old daughter to her. The teachers take their jobs seriously and instill a love of dance in each student. I drive over 30 minutes because it’s worth it to me to know she’s learning from the very best.
I have 4 kids dancing at this studio and they all love it! The people there are very friendly, both staff and other families/dancers. The pricing is reasonable especially considering all the classes my kids are taking. Highly recommend!
My daughters throughly enjoy learning to dance at a studio that is built on the foundations of inclusivity and teaching students at their level of understanding . Ms. Joan and Ms. Amber are phenomenal.
Your first ballet class at Joan Lynn Dance Company
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
