KMC introduced my daughter to her first dance experience and it has been great. Christine (owner) is amazing with young children along with the rest of her staff. She has an effective and excellent way of responding between emails and calls.
This studio is so wonderful. The teachers demonstrate so much patience and kindness with the littlest dancers who are not only learning about dance but also about being in a classroom and following a group plan as well as building their strength and coordination in gross motor movement.
A studio to call home! My daughter has been dancing for 10 years (competitively for 8 years) we chose to leave a local big name studio near us and make the drive (45 minutes) to KMC Dance Albertville.
Watching my daughter grow at this dance studio over the past two years has been such a special experience. At just 6 years old, she has not only learned dance skills and confidence, but she has also found a place where she feels encouraged, supported, and genuinely excited to be herself.
Your first ballet class at KMC Dance ALBERTVILLE
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
