MMDA is wonderful dance studio. The staff and the owner Mrs. Mari Milnar truly do love the children that they teach. They teach these children to have self confidence and how to shine as a dancer. It is more of a family oriented dance studio where everyone knows someone.
My daughter has been dancing here for years and LOVES IT (we both do)! The instructors are skilled and teach with love. Mari is passionate about her school and works very hard to be sure our kids are trained and puts on a fantastic show each year. We feel like family at MMDA.
This is my daughter's second year at MMDA. We came to the studio after our previous school closed. She was very nervous about joining another school so late in her dancing education. She was welcomed with open arms and has been treated like she has been there forever.
We have been apart of the MMDA family since my daughter was 15 months and it is truly our family! If you want a family environment while your child learns dance then Mari Milnar is the place. The teacher are patient, loving, and kind they love on your babies as their own.
Your first ballet class at Mari Milnar Dance Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
