From the reviews
After dancing for a couple years with a competition/recital based company, my daughter really wanted to focus on ballet. After searching all the dance schools in the area, this is the only one that teaches ballet from a fundamental standpoint.
Very professional, beautiful studio, clean. My daughter has gone here for 8 years and I'm so glad this is where she ended up! The owner/instructor is very professional and passionate about dance, theatre and the arts. She choreographs all her dances and has beautiful performances!!
My daughter started here almost 3 years ago after attending others in the area. She has actually been taught how to dance. We call Ms Kaye her "dance mom" and sometimes she has to not only ask us her parents if she can do something, but she also has to clear it with Ms Kaye too!
My oldest daughter danced with other companies before joining Midwest Regional Ballet. Once she got to MRB, she knew she was home. The entire group is family from the owner Miss Kaye and her instructors, to the newest little 3 year old dancers.
Your first ballet class at Midwest Regional Ballet, Company and School
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
