My 4 year old twins started dance this year at Momentum Dance Arts. They absolutely love it. Mrs. Jamie is very good with the kids and a great instructor. We just finished our 1st recital (Momentum's 1st Recital as well) and the choreography was amazing.
This is our 3rd season with Momentum and I couldn't be happier! All the teachers are incredible and Ms. Jamie is one in a million. She is so encouraging and patient with every child there and truly gives her whole heart to the studio. My daughter has fallen in love with dance and Ms. Jamie and made so many friends!
My daughter has been going to Momentum since the beginning. She really enjoys all the teachers. They really put the effort into reaching all the kids. Mrs. Jamie puts her all into the recital and it really shows. The last 2 years have been amazing. I can’t wait for our Bailey to be in even more numbers this year.
Wonderful studio that cultivates a positive and supportive atmosphere for children while still fostering competitive dancers with a drive to meet their full potential. Family-friendly and my girls always look forward to class and seeing their dance friends.
Your first ballet class at Momentum Dance Arts of Alachua
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
