From the reviews
What an incredible dance company, a true gem of a place! I have watched my son blossom here, under the care, guidance, and tutelage of the teachers and staff. He has been challenged, encouraged, and has fallen in love with dance.
My daughter is a dancer in the Rise City Dance company. Rise City is such a huge, wonderful, extremely positive part of her life. She's getting training at a pre-pro level from incredible teachers who have had amazing professional careers in dance.
We became a part of The Neighborhood Ballet (TNB) family about a year ago. Both my son and daughter were coming from an amazing original dance studio. They had a solid foundation and we’re excited to “get back on the floor” after the pandemic.
Our 6th grade son is is a member of Rise City Dance. He began as a young elementary schooler with The Neighborhood Ballet. Words can't capture what RCD means to him.
Your first ballet class at Rise City Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
