My daughter has been dancing at this studio since she was about 3. She’s almost 12 years old now and still Shares the same love and compassion for dance since day one. Being a mom who has never danced myself, I’m clueless when it comes to what classes are appropriate for her.
My oldest daughter started dancing at Sally Gould when she was almost 2. Now we have 3 dancers and they all love it. Ms. Ally is a fantastic teacher and has helped build my daughter’s skills and confidence. My youngest daughter has Ms. Nevada and she’s absolutely wonderful!
Thrilled to have my child at this studio. Ms. Ally is an amazing choreographer and so good with her students, teaching them structure, being part of a team, discipline all while having fun. Ms. Christine is a cheerful gem you can always count on to lift up the dancers spirits!
I began dancing at Sally Gould as a child and now I bring my daughters here. They are not only getting an exceptional dance eduction, they are learning skills that will help them grow and succeed through life. The teachers are all wonderful, supportive and nurturing.
Your first ballet class at Sally Gould Dance Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
