The programs they offer
“It's really nice to go to a dance Studio that I don't have to worry about my daughter doing any inappropriate movements or wearing suggestive costumes.”
What families & students say
“We are going on our third year with studio One and have been so impressed with the teaching and also with the recitals.”
From the reviews
Teri and Erin are great teachers! We are going on our third year with studio One and have been so impressed with the teaching and also with the recitals. Usually dance recitals are, let's be honest, painful to sit through… But with studio one the themes and numbers are so entertaining.
Studio 1 not only offers quality training in the art of classical ballet, but they expertly craft all dancing styles into an absolutely amazing show at the end of each season. It is an annual friends and family event that everyone looks forward to. Ms. Erin and Ms. Teri pour their hearts into every detail.
Our daughter has been here over 8 years, and she loves it which is most important to us. Plus, Ms Erin and Ms Teri are providing her the classical training she needs if she chooses to pursue dance through her teens and young adulthood.
Your first ballet class at Studio 1 Ballet
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
