From the reviews
I've been taking adult tap at The Dancing House for over a year now. When I started it had been almost 50 years since the last time I took a dance class. Miss Melissa does a great job of tailoring the class to everyone's level and explains things so well. And she's very patient!
I love The Dancing House! I love being able to come each week to class and see the excitement the little dancers have! I love that I get to be silly with them, but I love their excitement to learn and dance. The 6 week sessions are a great way to get your kiddos into dance and try it out.
Fiona has come out of her shell over the last few weeks and is having so much fun in class. Thank you for being patient and allowing her the time to get comfortable. We will definitely sign her up for future classes!
I have been working with Melissa and TDH Team for the past couple of years and it has been fantastic. I bring my enchanted characters into her Dance Camps so I have gotten a bird’s eye view of the studio she runs. What impresses me the most is the way she goes above and beyond for her students.
Your first ballet class at The Dancing House
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
