From the reviews
We looked at many dance studio's and immediately felt like the vibe at GBSD was more down to earth. They saw my daughter's potential in dance vs. her already made skill sets. They took her and taught her to be more skilled and a better dancer all around.
GBSD is awesome! Our daughter has learned so much in the three years we have been there, it has been incredible to watch. The instructors really know what they are doing, and clearly love doing it. The studio is a warm welcoming environment, and the space is a spacious and beautiful place to dance!
The Greater Boston School of Dance is an exceptional place for dancers to learn. The instructors are highly skilled and knowledgeable and have a genuine passion for teaching.
The best place for kids to dance! The friendliest atmosphere you can ask for and the place is just beautiful and comfortable, and with plenty of parking 😊. My daughter started dancing here about 1.5 years ago, started as a recreational dancer, she did ballet and acrobatics and loved it so much!
Your first ballet class at The Greater Boston School of Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
