Wonderful dance studio for all ages!! My 14 year old daughter is starting her 12th year of dance, and started at Turning Pointe last fall. My 11 year old daughter is excited to start this fall as well, after seeing how wonderful Miss Chelsea is with special needs students like herself.
I absolutely love this studio, I started last fall and I have really progressed throughout the year. Chelsea is an amazing instructor, she makes me feel safe and comfortable in the studio.
We love Turning Pointe Dance Studio! Mrs. Chelsea is so patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Our daughter has been taking dance for 3 years with Mr. Chelsea. We like that she tries to keep the toddler/preschool classes smaller. We feel it gives a more one on one experience. Dance with Mrs.
My children have been dancing with Chelsea and other instructors at TPD for many years. They have tried multiple styles of dance and then narrowed their focus. I love the inclusivity of this studio. The choreography is excellent so the end of the year performances are really fun to watch.
Your first ballet class at Turning Pointe Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
